@TR Forte@Max Caulfield-SPOILER ALERT-1. Simon kills Sophie, the doctor, and then himself, leaves a suicide note, wishing that everyone who reads it dies.2. Simon kills Sophie and then himself, leaves a letter to his doctor saying sorry, but 'some people can't be saved.' Simon kills the doctor and then himself.4. Simon accidentally kills 2 cops and has to live the rest of his life in a mental hospital, Sophie constantly visits him.
(The 'good' ending.)5. It shows that David Leatherhoff from Afraid of Monsters is the driver who ran over Simon, although this is a joke ending and non-canon.
Simon is a 19 year old male and has anxiety and depression, little is known about his school or home life and some things his doctor wants to talk about Simon refuses to. Simon lives with his mom and dosen't mention his father or family in the game. His only freind or girlfreind is Sophie. Simon is a victum of a hit and run event where he was pinned to a building by a car while trying to help a man in pain. Sounds like a nice guy right? Sadly Simon was crippled from the waist down and lived using a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Giving him even more mental trama which made him become reclusive and spiteful of his own life.
Doctor Purnell is Simons doctor and is seen a alot of times in the story but is a figure of simons imagination. There are many diffrent endings that can impact the story of what happens to Simon including diffrent boss fights. These are the first enemies you will encounter in Cry of Fear.
They shake there heads constantly making it hard to headshot. Early on knifing is the only way to kill them, but later in the game you can usually kill 1 pretty quick with a headshot or 2 rounds to the chest.

When Simon deals damage to a twitcher it will flinch back. These guys spawn with all diffrent commands such as 'fast twitcher, normal twitcher or slow twitcher'. Being the 1st enemies in the game they are easy but still a challenge on hard or nightmare mode difficulties as they can take down a lot of damage in the begining. This monster is like the twitchers but being more fast and strong is commonly fought in the game. These guys do damage and are usually in groups.
There is another variant of this character that is called 'slowno'. He appears only 1 time in the game when Simon picks up the TMP/Glock in a corridor in the TL trading buidling. He has 3 heads with multiple eyes and screams a roar that can frighten Simon. They also both variants do not shake there heads like twitchers making it easyier for headshots. The Faster is a monster which screams and attacks by stabbing and slashing the player with two blade-like hands. This monster makes a metallic sound when walking due to the same arms as legs.
When killed it stabs its neck and falls over. It is a mutated woman which screams when attacking Simon.
They are encountered almost everywhere. The other version of the faster is a male that has bars growing from its shoulders covering its face, making it impossiable to kill from a headshot. Its only in the game as a referance. Sawrunner is fast and has a chainsaw that he chases Simon with.
Encountered multiple times he is more of a hazard than a enemy to fight. He is quite the challenge, for his screaming and loud noises tend to put players in a very alert and nervous state.
Simon is ment to run from him since a single hit from the sawrunner will kill Simon instantly. Due to its speed it can easily catch up to Simon if not sprinting. Morphine can refill the stamina bar and keep the player running so Simon doesn't run out of breath.
It is possiable to kill the Sawrunner but he has an insane amount of health = 2000hp. Killing him will offer no reward than you won't have to run from him in that scene. If hes killed he will still appear later in the game, just a heads up. Apart from being scary and incasing his head with other faces he is a force to reckon with.
The Faceless are distinct for attacking in large numbers and attempting to swarm Simon. For experianced players (like myself and ENW) these guys are hardly a threat. They first appear in the College while the lights are out, giving them an advantage and make them more scary.
They are hard to kill each needing 4 bullets to the chest with a glock and 2 for headshots. Attacking these guys with melee is very hard to do as they have the highest attack speed and do a lot of damage.
In some parts these guys can fake being dead and come alive to attack Simon. The are many other varitants of the faceless while the ghostly faceless being a creative one.
They ironically have a face but appear to have no body and you can only find them in the bloody apartments basement while its dark and there mostly used for scares. The Hangman are monsters only encountered in the Maze in Chapter 4. There are multiple that can instantly kill you if they hit you in the maze. They don't really follow Simon but more like Simon follows them. They are on there own path and will kill Simon if he hits them.
They are also Unkilliable by Simon. They give Simon that overwhelming feeling in the maze as there are maps in the maze telling you where you are at to help you get threw it, these maps are on course with the hangman so take a quick look!
Sawer is the first boss in Cry of Fear, being confronted at the conclusion of Chapter 1 in the sub levels of the apartments, although he is seen close to the beginning. He is a considerably tall and skeletal creature wielding a chainsaw he is named after, and has multiple pins protruding from his head, and other areas of his body.Simon confronts him during his first severe nightmare, Sawer ambushing Simon once he enters his lair and preventing his escape by cutting a steam pipe into the path of the door. He will then pursue Simon relentlessly around the room, moving slowly but taking giant steps that allow him to keep pace with the player. If he gets a chance to attack the player, his preparation to swing the chainsaw is slow enough that it is simple to avoid - but if the player manages to get caught in a corner, they have little hope of escape. Being hit once by the chainsaw is an instant kill, Simon being brutally sliced in half at the waist.Sawer is immune to all forms of damage Simon can give him for most of the battle, his only weak spot being a closed eye protruding from his upper back. The only way to reveal the eye is to damage him until he finally wears down and falls to one knee to rest. The eye will then open and Simon may attack it for a few seconds before Sawer stands to his feet once more and resumes the chase.Killing Strategy'.-Sawer is generally slow and easy to avoid, however he can catch up to the player almost instantly if he/she is not paying attention.- Once the cutscene is over Sawer will be coming right at the player, to avoid this run to the left to gain some distance.-Once the player has gained some distance the player should shoot Sawer with their pistol for a total of 3-6 shots (depending on dificulty) to bring him to a knee for him to rest.
At this moment the player should run up to Sawer with their switchblade and get behind him to attack the eye (bulge) on Sawer's back with the sweeping motion of the knife. Mace is the second boss in Cry of Fear, being fought in the sewers near the end of Chapter 2. He is a large foe, considerably taller than Simon and bearing several bandages across his body that also cover his eyes, a bloated tongue hanging from his mouth.
He is named after the large spiked mace he carries, which has the power to kill Simon in one hit if he is not careful during the fight.Mace appears once The Doctor has fled from Simon after beheading a man he was torturing for the location of a key. As Mace appears, he reveals that he has the key and swallows it before the fight begins. He is notably a very slow foe and is most likely unable to see because of the bandages covering his eyes, often stopping for several moments as if to sniff out Simon before resuming in pursuing him. It can also be assumed that he is able to pursue Simon through hearing, as Simon will make noise whilst moving due to the room being partially flooded.Despite his handicaps, Mace is completely immune to all of Simon's weapons.
![Cry of fear monsters Cry of fear monsters](https://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/afraidofmonsters/images/8/89/Forest70001_copy.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20111008170451)
The only way to kill him is to turn one of the four valves around the room all the way to power up it's respective generator, which will prepare to emit a charge through the water in the partially flooded room. Simon will have to power up separate generators to emit enough of an elctrical charge to kill Mace, taking care to jump onto dry ground before the electricity can emit. The amount of generators needed to kill Mace depends on the difficulty the player chose at the start of the game (2,3,4,5).Killing Strategy.-Mace is VERY slow, even while attacking, so use this to your advantage.-While the player stands on the platform with the decapitated body, Mace cannot find Simon (unless Simon touches Mace). If you need time to think stand here and take a look around.-Again weapons are USELESS against Mace dont bother shooting him it will just atract attention to you.-Take note that the vales needed to be turned to charge the elcetricity are spaced evenly, go for the one farthest away from Mace.-If you're feeling balsy, a well-timed jump can be used to avoid the elctrified water, instead of going to the platform.
Carcass is the third boss in Cry of Fear, being fought at the end of chapter three on the rooftops. Carcass is a bloated and amputated body restrained to a chair held in the air by several chains that hover above him.
He appears to be a symbol of Simon's grief - primarily in regards to Sophie herself, connecting Sophie's eventual fate in the ending heavily to the creatures own. Its design also implies connection to Simon's crippled state, as it is confined to a chair and unable to move without the aid of the chains. His attacks involve ranged attacks in which he fires ghostly projectiles towards the player that track his/her movements and are difficult to dodge. Due to the difficulty in avoiding his attacks and the high amount of damage it causes, Carcass can be a very lethal foe for players who are inexperienced in fighting him. Once killed, Carcass falls limp in his chair and the chains lose their flight, the creature and its chair falling to the ground below and vanishing. Carcass is the only boss in cry of fear in which players can choose wether or not to fight him and kill him, however this choice will impact the ending GREATLY.Killing strategy.-Considering the high amount of damage carcass does to the player, distance is important.-Hiding behind walls and such from long distances can help the player avoid the tracking heads.-Sniping is key to Carcass. (was hard to get pic sorry)The final boss of Cry of Fear in endings 1, 2 and 3.
These are attainable if the player chooses to escape Carcass, refuses to give the P345 to Doctor Purnell, or both. He is the manifestation of the 'real' Simon, who was crippled by the impact of the hit and run incident at the beginning of the game. Under the instruction of Purnell, he began to write a book about his emotions that gave birth to the world depicted in the game- a depiction of Simon struggling with his inner emotions. In reality, the Simon you play as is merely a depiction of him in the real Simon's head. After finishing writing the book in ending 1,2 and 3; Simon shoots himself in the head and Book Simon (the protagonist) is sent into a nightmare world (his own head); the realm bloodied and constantly changing, with countless book pages with 'Suicide' written on it. Book Simon will proceed to make his way through the warped world and eventually climb to where Sick Simon resides- a depiction of what is left of the real Simon, attempting to fight away his evil twin. It can be presumed that the fight itself is a depiction of Simon's actions eventually overwhelming him, driving him to commit suicide. The fight against Sick Simon is possible, but potentially difficult for those who do not know what to do.
Simon will sit out of reach behind several steel bars, gunshots having no effect on him. Simon will use psychokinetic powers to throw items at the player, forcing them to time their jumps and crouches just right to avoid them. The player will also have to fight four hordes of unique Faceless, one of the creatures within the horde being a 'Twisterv' variant, causing it to drop a Valve upon death. All four valves can then be used in separate corners to raise the bars blocking the player from reaching Simon.Upon finally raising the bars, Book Simon will enter the room and proceed to mercilessly beat the real Simon unconscious before strangling him to death. The death of Sick Simon results in Book Simon collapsing as well, the conclusion of the battle causing the real Simon to give in and commit suicide. In ending 4 of the game, Sick Simon is a playable character.Killing Strategy.-It can be said that this boss is impossible.-Focus all your fire on the Faceless or you'll just be wasting it.-If by the time you get to Simon you have no ammo try to get the faceless to get into a crowd and circle them. They will try to attack you but only hit each other.
The 'true' boss of the game can only be obtained by killing Carcass, and giving the p345 to Doctor Purnell. Book Simon is the 'dark' side of Simon who, untill this point, the player plays as throughout the game. There is'nt much more to be said in that this bos is much like the hated Alessa boss from Silent Hill 3. Book Simon first attacks the player with a Glock, then goes to a shotgun, a machine gun, and finally a sledgehammer. Each one of these is triggered by inflicting a set number of damage to Book Simon.Killing Strategy.- Distance.- Just distance and shoot.
FISTS/PISTOL WHIPPros:-Moderately fast, but slow compared to other methods.-Doesn't affect accuracy unlike other melee weapons.-Doesn't take up inventory space.-Almost always available,Cons:-Weakest attack in-game.Switchblade-Simon has this weapon on him at the start of the game. Right-clicking with this weapon equipped lets him change his attack style. Putting the blade up lets Simon do a quick slashing attack, while putting the blade down lets him do a stabbing attack- which does a bit more damage per swing at the cost of a noticeably slower swing speed. Only the stabbing attacks can be done while dual wielding with it.Pros:-First weapon made available to the player-Fast swing speed-Multiple attack modes; A quick slash attack, or a slower stabbing attack mode but stronger stab attack.-Can be used to kill weaker types of monsters quickly, conserving ammunition.Cons:-Weakest melee weapon in the game.NIGHTSTICKPros:-More damage than the switchblade.-Can effectively kill weaker monsters to conserve ammunition.Cons:-Slow swing speed.BranchA misc. Melee weapon. Found in the woods in chapter 6.Pros:-More damage per swing than the knife.-Commonly found weapon in woods section of the game.-Faster swing speed than the Baton.Cons:-Only avaible in Chapter 6, thus making it have no cons.SledgehammerPros:-Strongest melee weapon overall. (Not counting Leatherhoff's axe)-Capable of destroying brick walls.Cons:-Slowest swing speed overall.-Not useful for hitting enemies before they attack first.-Each swing of the sledgehammer depletes the stamina gauge by a small amount.FireaxeThis weapon is unlocked if you find David Leatherhoff's axe in the fifth ending and use it to kill a twitcher once.Pros:-The most powerful melee weapon in the game-Fast Swing SpeedCons:-Doesn't contain dual wield support.
Glock 19 9mmThe first firearm Simon finds in the single player campaign. Found off a corpse hanging from the ceiling tiles near the beginning of the Apartment level. Later on, Simon will encounter Suiciders who are armed with it.The Glock 19 9mm has a 15-round magazine.Pros:-Has the second highest magazine capacity of all of the pistols.-It can be equipped with a tactical light, eliminating the need to dual wield with a separate light source.-Moderately low recoil.-Easy to use iron sights.-Ammunition is extremely plentiful.-An overall useful weapon.Cons:-The weakest pistol in the game.-Slightly longer reload time leaves player vulnerable.VP70The VP70 is the fourth firearm that Simon comes across.
It can be found in the end of a tunnel in the alleys of Chapter 4, after the chainsaw chase and before the College.
